Drew's Kindergarten Graduation

My baby graduation from kindergarten this year and it was very bittersweet - no more kindergarten graduations for the Skene household.  Drew was his usual smiley self which made for some great pics:

I had to do a double take on the year of his high school graduation - holy smokes will I be old then.  I think my favorite moment of the graduation was him saying what he wants to be when he grows up:
Watch out world, what a "singer" he will be!

End of the School Year

Since I didn't do much volunteering in the classroom this year I decided to sign on for the end of the year field trips for both Isla and Drew.

Drew's field trip was a bit wet, but we only had a short jaunt over to Goody's where he got to see how ice cream was made and have a sample:

Isla's was a bit warmer which was nice as it was at the Idaho Botanical Gardens.  It was fun hanging with my sweet girl for the morning:

Flag Football

This spring Drew played in his first flag football season.  It was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen.  Drew was very excited and took his playtime very seriously, mouth guard and all:
He got in some good runs:
And he also got his first black eye.  Surprisingly it happened by running into a teammate before the game even started.  Drew was a trooper and actually played the game.  Behold the progression of the shiner:

Maui 2017

We headed over to Maui for spring break this year with Papa and GiGi.  Cousin Ilea was able to come as well which was a major bonus as the kids hadn't seen her in a couple months.

This year the kids and I traveled separately from Ryan over to Maui to save some major $$ on airfare.  I think I got the better deal out of that one.  These kids are becoming really good fliers:
The kids had no issue getting back into the Maui way of life:

Neither did Mom and Dad:
We spent lots of time at the beach this year:

And of course did our annual whale watch:

The kids also got henna tattoos with a side of shaved ice:

Maui we heart you:

Winter 2016/2017

I figured since it has been almost nine months I might try and start this "blogging" thing again.  Yikes - I'm going to try and do better the rest of the year for my kiddos as I have no baby books or photo albums to show them about their lives.

What did we do this past winter?  Not much, but a couple things to note:

1.  We finally remodeled our kitchen.  Didn't change too much about it, just gave it a nice face lift:

2.  Isla continued her love of playing basketball and even managed to get in lots of buckets this season - we were so proud of her!:

3. In case you were under a rock this winter and missed the fact that we had A LOT of snow you might be surprised that we spent a lot of time skiing this winter.  Isla was on ski team so we didn't see her much, but we got to spend quality time with the Drew man:

We got up to SV and got to watch all the Elk outside Grandma and Papa Randy's new house:

That's about all I got.  Lots of time was spent with family indoors to the aforementioned snow:

Here's to more blogging in 2017!!

October 2016

October was filled with a lot of football and soccer - just as it should be.

Ryan and I escaped for a weekend to SLC to watch the Huskies beat Utah.  We even got up early to go to ESPN's College Game Day:
It was quite the scene.  This was my favorite sign of the day:
Lee Corso picked the right team to win:
We met up with my Dad and family friends, Rick & Eileen for some pre-game fun:
And I even got Ryan to wear a UW t-shirt for the game:
Halloween was crazy as we were trying to move out of our house for our kitchen remodel.  Thank goodness the kids decided to wear their costumes from last year - a cat and Marshall from Paw Patrol:

I love October in Boise - it's the best.  Drew and I enjoyed hikes by parents house to enjoy the foliage:
