Who knew . . .

brushing your teeth could be this funny?
Sorry for the close up but it was hard to manage brushing his teeth and recording the video at the same time. I just hope he always enjoys brushing his teeth this much!

After Christmas

After Christmas we stayed up in Sun Valley and relaxed while we hung out with both families.  It was too cold to take the kids skiing so we spent a lot of time inside playing with Drew's scooter that he got from Santa.  Thank goodness we had this thing!  They played for hours on it and Grandma's hard wood floors were perfect:
Drew's cheering for Isla cracks me up in this video:
We did manage to get the kids out for some more sledding:
And enjoyed this view (I will never get tired of this):
We made it back to Boise before the New Year and Isla got to hang out with her bestie, Payton.  They insisted we take this picture after their play date:
I need to start making a collection of these pictures they have us take!

Christmas 2012

We were up very very very early Christmas morning.  Not that I was surprised as Isla was so excited to see what Santa left for her. So excited that she tore through her gifts in about twenty minutes.  Drew is still in the stage where he opens gifts and wants to play with the toy before moving onto the next gift. Besides the early hour it was fun to watch the kids open all their gifts:

We waited until the sun came up before we went on to the second Christmas with my parents, cousins, aunt and sister.  I always love KE's Christmas trees:
Before we let the kids tear into their gifts we hung out with the family:

Then it was on to the presents:

Drew was so excited to get his Diego and Dora dolls from Papa and GiGi.  He didn't put them down all day:
After Christmas with my side of the family we headed back to Grandma and Papa Randy's to go sledding and play with all our gifts:

Drew with his dolls . . . again:

Christmas Eve 2012

After our weekend in Vegas, Ryan and I rushed up to Sun Valley in a snow storm to relieve our parents from watching the kids.  In hindsight it probably would have been better to come up to SV on Christmas Eve morning so we didn't feel so rushed.  We forgot a lot of stuff like our camera, Ryan's ski clothes, some Christmas gifts.  Oh well.  Live and learn.

As I was saying we drove through a snow storm and finally got to Sun Valley around 8:00 pm the day before Christmas Eve.  We were so excited to see the kids just in time to put them to bed:
The next morning (Christmas Eve) we were up bright and early and off to Starbucks in Ketchum to see Papa and GiGi:
Drew was really into his bagel and oatmeal at Starbucks:

After Starbucks we took the kids to the resort to see all the ice sculptures and the ice rink:

That evening, Grandma wanted to read the kids the "Night before Christmas" before they went to bed:

Drew decided that the story needed a little music added to it:
After our evening entertainment the kids finally went to sleep (after getting up about five different times) so Santa could come.

Las Vegas Bowl - 2012

When Ryan and I found out that BSU was going to be playing UW in the Las Vegas bowl we immediately began to plot ways in which we could make it down to see the game.  Lucky for us the stars aligned (i.e. my parents offered to watch the kids, we found good airfare) and we found ourselves on a plane down to Las Vegas the Friday before Christmas.

Signs at the Mandalay Bay welcoming the Huskies:

Ryan and I had to make a lot of compromises on this trip - we got to stay at Mandalay Bay where the Huskies were staying, but we had to sit in the BSU section at the game.  On Saturday we got to the game a couple hours early so we could tailgate.  I had to get this shot of Ryan with the UW marching band behind him, double fisting no less:
I also found out that my high school buddy, Mike Goodman, was in Vegas for the game as well so we met up with him for a couple of drinks before the game:
Ryan and I representing our teams proudly:
After the tailgate we made our way to our seats and I was definitely the lone purple in a sea of orange.  Luckily for me no one gave me a hard time.  In fact, no one really talked to me except for Ryan.  Not sure which is better? National anthem and fly over before the game:

Our seats weren't too bad:
It was a good game, but unfortunately for me, the Dawgs lost.  Ryan was very gracious with his W.  I think it's because we will be watching them play again in eight months.  After the game we headed back to the hotel for dinner and drinks before we headed home for Christmas.  I may have had a couple of these pretty things to help me cope with the loss:
YUMMY is all I can say.

Snoop 2012

Oh what a busy second half of December we had!  I'm still recovering.  To kick off our Christmas vacation, Ryan and I went to the Snoop Dogg concert.  Snoop came to Boise a couple of years ago and the concert was phenomenal.  When we heard he was coming back, we didn't hesitate to purchase tickets and actually opted for VIP in hopes that the concert would be as good.  GrandmaGiGi was in town already for the Holidays so she volunteered (more like we told her) to watch the kids.

Before we left for the night Isla and Drew go to open one present from GrandmaGiGi, which just happened to be their first Christmas present of the year.  They both tore into them:

It was good practice for the real thing and the suitcases they got came in pretty handy for the trip up to Sun Valley.

On to the concert.  Due to work, kids and other things, we were running late and couldn't make it to the pre-party so we went straight to the concert.  In hindsight I would have opted for the pre-party over the opening act.  It was soooo bad.  So we just decided to drink which explains the next pictures.  We were having a good time though:

The place was pretty packed and I'm glad we opted for the VIP tickets.  If only Snoop would have been as good as the last concert.  Oh well, it was still good to see the old guy:
