Lake Chelan

This past weekend we drove up to Lake Chelan to celebrate my Grandaddy's 90th birthday! We rented a beautiful house on Wapato Point and relaxed by the lake. It was a quick trip, but well worth it. Happy Birthday Grandaddy! Here are some pictures from the trip:

My cousin Mandy and her daughter, Emma, made the trip up from California. Mandy is about 4 months pregnant with her second child so I had a pregnant friend to hang out with. Emma enjoying the beach - she is such a cutie!

Not all of the family could make it over the weekend so we had to have two birthday celebrations for Grandaddy. Of course we had our hats on - it wouldn't be a true Detwiler party without them. My mom made her awesome peanut butter pie for the celebration:

Lyle Lovett

Last night we went with a group of our friends to the Lyle Lovett concert at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. The concert was great and the weather decided to cooperate with us so we had a nice evening hanging out with our friends and listening to Lyle. Here are some photos from the night:
The group (from left to right): the Kearneys (Sarah and Ryan), the Bordners (Kirstin and Jeremy) and the Hamiltons (Molly and Jesse). Poor Sarah had only the guys to drink with as Molly, Kirstin and I are all pregnant.

Ryan and I are off to Lake Chelan tomorrow with the Detwiler side of the family to celebrate my Grandaddy's 90th birthday! Should be fun. I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get back.

Shower Weekend

This weekend I headed to Washington for two baby showers. The first shower was thrown by my Aunt Margot in Seattle and catered by my cousin's wife, Robin. The weather, food, guests, and hosts were absolutely wonderful! Here are some pictures: I was so lucky and honored to have my cousins and college friends travel to Seattle just for the shower. My cousin Erica (second from left) came up from San Francisco, my cousin Laura (far left) and friends Summer (third from right) and Meagan (far right) came up from Portland and my friend Sara (middle) came from Spokane. Holly (second from right) didn't have that far to travel as she lives in Kirkland, but she had all the college friends stay at her place. Thanks so much for coming ladies - it wouldn't have been the same without you!It was an honor to have my Grandaddy attend the shower. It wouldn't have been complete without him.
Not only did my aunt Margot host the baby shower, but she also gave me a very special gift. Since I couldn't find any bedding that I loved I purchased some fabrics and my aunt sewed a curtain valance, crib skirt, and crib bumper for me. They turned out so amazing and I can't wait to put the nursery together. Thank you so much Margot - you are wonderful!

In case you are wondering, yes, I am wearing a hat. It is Detwiler tradition at every party!

The next day I had my second shower which was thrown by my Mom's good friends, Julia Sobchuck, Pam Sinnett, Connie Goodman, and Sue Stull up in Bellingham. It was another beautiful day and we enjoyed hanging outside and taking in the beautiful view of the Bellingham Bay at Julia's house. The food was wonderful and it was great to hang out with family and friends whom I haven't seen in awhile. Thank you so much ladies!

Ilea, Chloe, and Maia helped me open the gifts and were great at all of the shower games.

To top off the weekend I came home (very late on Sunday night I might add) and my amazing, wonderful husband surprised me by painting the nursery while I was gone. The color is perfect and the bedding that my aunt made for me looks so good with the wall color I can't wait to get the crib and dressers put together! Thanks again to everyone who made this weekend so special - I am truly blessed!

4th of July Weekend

Ryan and I had an exciting long 4th of July weekend. First we were lucky to spend a HOT Thursday evening with our friends, the Bordners, on their boat up at Lucky Peak reservoir. It was great to be on water in 100 degree temperatures and it was great to finally get together with the Bordners this summer. Their son Ryder had a ball in the water in his pink boat.
On Saturday Ryan's childhood friend, Vince Hordemann, married Jennifer Huter in a beautiful ceremony at St. John's cathedral. The reception was held at the Rose Room in downtown Boise. It was great to see Ryan's buddies and dance the night away. I have to say that being the only sober person at the reception was more entertaining than I thought it was going to be. In true Heather form I danced it up as much as I could and then spent the rest of the night watching other people dance and have a great time. It was a beautiful wedding and we are so happy for Vince and Jen. Here are some pictures from the night:

Here are some late night shots. The first is of Ryan, Jenny Hordemann and Vince. Jenny is Vince's brother's wife - yeah they both married girls named Jennifer. Makes it a bit confusing at times! The bride and groom also stayed until the last song was played (1 am!). The DJ had a rough start, but thanks to my husband's multiple song requests the dance floor was crowded all night long.

Doctor Appointment

Ryan and I had our follow up doctor's appointment today in order to determine if there is a blood vessel covering my cervix and we are very happy and relieved to report that there is no blood vessel! There still may be an issue with my low lying placenta so we are going back in six weeks, but the doctor doesn't seemed to be too worried about it.

On top of this good news we also got to see our little girl again. The ultrasound tech took all of her measurements and she is measuring right in line with her due date of October 5th. And they were able to estimate her weight (within 5 oz) and she has doubled in size since our last appointment and is weighing in at 2lbs 4 oz. Below is a great shot of her lips and nose that we were able to take home with us. It looks like she is giving us a kiss.

Ryan and I have a busy wedding weekend as his friend Vince is getting married on Saturday. I will be sure to post pictures of the festivities on Sunday (hopefully!).
