Zoo Visit and a BIG "Motosicle"

Last weekend Grandma and Papa Randy came down to hang out with us.  We braved the cool weather on Saturday morning and visited the zoo.  I'm not sure what was up with the animals, but they were all really active while we were there which was fun to see.

Grandma and Isla watching the giraffes play with each other:

Happy watching the lions:

Here kitty kitty:
I think Drew had more fun riding the tiger:
After Drew's nap the weather warmed up and Drew got a special treat by getting to sit on Papa Randy's "motosicle" as he likes to call them.  He was one happy little man:

Just two days ago Drew sat on the couch with Ryan and watched some motor cross event (I think it was the X-games?) on TV and was fascinated by it.  He kept on saying, "Daddy, big jump" or "Daddy, look at all the mud" every ten seconds.  Both my boys were in seventh heaven.  And Drew was even more so when he got to sit on a BIG "motosicle".

Cleaning, a Dirt Pile and a Pitiful Hank

Last weekend was pretty laid back - we didn't have any plans but to stay home and relax (and watch the Masters).  On Saturday while Drew was sleeping Isla got a hold of our sponge from the sink and went to town cleaning the walls and bookcase downstairs:
I have no idea where this comes from, but I am not complaining one bit.  If only she were this way when it came to cleaning her room . . .

Sunday we found ourselves at the Idaho Botanical Gardens with the Hamiltons for two hours walking around and trying to wear out the kids.  I didn't get any pictures, but we succeeded in tiring out Drew who napped for about three hours.

That afternoon/evening our neighbors invited us over for pizza.  We watched the kids play in the dirt pile they had delivered for their new garden.  The kids played in this thing for hours - I'm thinking about having dirt delivered to our house next weekend to keep my kids occupied:

Poor Hank just watched the kids play looking pitiful - yes, buddy, I do remember when it was just you and you got all the attention:

Hey Baby!

A couple of months ago Isla approached Ryan and said "Daddy, do you know this song . .? " and started to sing the Lyrics of the 1960's hit Hey Baby by Bruce Channel.  I guess they play this song at daycare when they have their "dance parties" and it has quickly become Isla's favorite.

Every night Ryan and I have music playing while we are making dinner and Isla always requests us to play her favorite song. Sometimes she entertains us with a little dance party while she is singing her song and last night, Drew decided to join her:

I will gladly take this song over Justin Bieber and TSwift anyday!

Easter 2013

We had a very laid back Easter this year as it was just our family.  The kids woke up to baskets that the Easter bunny left and then we did a small egg hunt inside the house:

Of course the biggest hit was the bubble wrap that Papa and GiGi's presents came in:
The kids then got a special treat of pancakes with chocolate chips and peanut butter and syrup on top for breakfast (as if they didn't have enough sugar in their system already):
The rest of the day was spent out in the yard with a picnic lunch:

And Drew riding his "motosicle" around with his new helmet:
