Sun Valley . . . again

Life is tough when you get to go up to Sun Valley twice in three weeks!  Especially when you get to go on gorgeous hikes with views like this at the end:
This weekend I just brought the kids along since my parent were up visiting Aunt Anna and getting ready for her wedding in September.  We stayed at my Aunt KE's house and made good use of her pool:
Isla has been taking swimming lessons and has made major improvements in her confidence around water.  She now jumps into the pool with gusto if someone is there to catch her.  Drew on the other hand loves the pool and laughs the entire time:

Sunday we went up to the ranch where Anna and Robert are getting married to check it out.  I'll give you a little preview of the venue:
The views are stunning and I can't wait for the wedding!  Drew enjoyed the view from a chair on the porch of the lodge while the rest of us toured the grounds:
From the ranch we went to Redfish lake to spend the afternoon.  It had been a while since I've been up there and I forget just how beautiful it really is:
My beach babies:

Thank goodness Drew took a nap in the stroller while the rest of us sunbathed and relaxed by the water:

The rest of the trip was more of hanging out with family.  Anna (she is under Isla), Isla and Krista snuggled in the hammock after dinner:
The morning we left I got to watch a fly fishing class taught by Krista's roommate, Cody, in my Aunt's lawn.  It was so cute and I can't wait to watch Ryan do this with our kiddos:

Girls Weekend in Sun Valley

Two weekends ago a couple of girlfriends and I headed up to Sun Valley for a girls trip.  It was an absolute blast!  The first night up there Sarah and I hung out with my much younger and cuter cousin, Krista, who showed us a great time.  How can you beat an 80's cover band at Whiskey's with a bunch of 23 yr olds?  I seriously felt soooo old, but managed to have a good time (dancing in the back of the bar by myself).  Of course we had to get a pic on the big chair outside the cellar before we made the trip to Whiskey's:
The next day Karen joined us for a day at the pool at Zenergy and then yet another fun danced filled night at Whiskey's. Due to my camera malfunctioning after our wild Friday night, I was only able to get the picture above, but Sarah's blog has more pictures of our "relaxing" girls weekend!  I heart you Sun Valley :-).

4th of July - 2012

It was so weird having the 4th of July falling on a Wednesday this year.  Since the holiday was in the middle of the week we decided to stick close to home and go to a BBQ at our neighbors house with the kiddos.  In the morning I tried really hard to wear the kids out by making them race up and down our driveway:

Thank goodness it worked because both of them took great naps so Mom could hang out and read in the sun! After naps it was off to the BBQ where both the kids enjoyed a popsicle:
Someone needs to tell Drew that you need to eat the popsicle from the other side (and to not make weird faces when Mom is trying to take a picture).  Isla was so excited because she got to hang out with one of her best buddies, Ben, or as Isla likes to call him, Beniboo the whole afternoon:
Aren't they the cutest?!

I really wish I knew what he was saying:
