Halloween 2015

Halloween was a laid back affair for us this year.  I'm always a little behind the times when it comes to decorating for this "holiday" (this one ranks right up there with Valentine's Day in my book). We didn't carve pumpkins until the day of Halloween:
The kids were excited to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood.  I decided to have a photo shoot to hold them off as long as we could before starting our rounds:

Then it was off to the races:

Luckily Drew is still young enough to want to call it quits after 45 minutes. The amount of candy that they got in those 45 minutes was astounding!  I'm still trying to get rid of it . .

October 2015

Yay for fall! Our October started out with bouncy house fun and working out at the park:

And Isla wanting me to take pictures of her while she does weird stuff with her hair and pretends she is asleep:

We decided to venture to the Idaho Botanical Gardens Fall Festival and it seems as though the secret is out about this place.  We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was crazy.  The kids had fun painting pumpkins and getting their faces painted:

Not sure how I managed to get this picture while we were at the gardens, but it cracks me up every time I see it:
Isla's class got to go to the pumpkin patch this year:
Still sad I missed out, but there is always next year.

Isla Turns 7

And two days later, this little lady turned 7:
And she was super happy that I took this picture of her eating her birthday cupcakes at school.  Par for the course.  I'm already getting small glimpses of a 13 year old Isla and I'm scared.

I digress, Isla's birthday started off with a soccer game in which she scored a goal!:

We brought Isla's favorite, cinnamon rolls, for the team treat.  The team all sang "Happy Birthday" to her while she hid behind her cinnamon roll:
As Isla's birthday was on a Saturday this year we got to host both her and her brother's birthday on her special day. Luckily she was okay with that:

Birthday cakes for two:
Happy kids with their friends and cake:

Isla is the complete opposite of her brother so it took forever to get what she wanted for her birthday out of her.  My studious little girl wanted a desk (apple doesn't fall far from the tree):
Happy Birthday Isla Bean!

Drew Turns 5

My baby is 5.  That's just cray.  Speaking of crazy, the little dude was very excited for his birthday:

Each night about a week before his birthday we would put him to bed and then about 20 minutes later he would come upstairs and tell us what he wanted for his birthday, for about 5 minutes (the list was very long an detailed).  Needless to say we had no issue in figuring out what to get him for his birthday.

Since Drew's birthday fell on a Thursday this year we just had a nice quiet night at home with just our family.  Dinner was catered by Whole Foods, as was the birthday cake (two birthdays in one week takes it's toll on my cooking and baking quota):

Happy boy.  Then it was on to presents:

Super excited for his Paw Patroler.  You keep us on our toes and have us laughing everyday. Happy Birthday Drew Drew!

First Day of School - 2015

This girl was so ready to start her first day of first grade this year:
No hiding behind Mom and Dad in the school line, she was happy to see her friends and actually talked to people:
And the lucky girl got the teacher she wanted! Hope she enjoys being the only Skene in her school before her little brother joins her next year . . .

The Rest of Summer 2015

We had an action packed last half of the summer:

We helped Papa move things into their new home in Boise!:
It was the least we could do since we spend every waking moment at their new place enjoying their pool:
Ryan had is 20 year high school reunion. Yes, he is old.  But he and his friends still know how to party:
We had a weekend up in McCall with the Hamilton's at their cabin.  My happy place:

Ryan and I also celebrated our 10th anniversary (okay, I'm old too).  We look so young in these photos:

This video of Drew basically explains our whole summer (and it's also hilarious):

Lots of swimming and good times!
