The biggest hit of the carnival was the dunk tank. I sat with Isla and watched kid after kid get dunked when she turned to me and said "Mom, I want to go in the dunk tank". After I removed my jaw from the floor I made sure she knew what she was getting herself into (going under water, wet clothes) and she still seemed determined so I went and waited in line with her knowing that once we got to the front of the line she would bow out.
Well thirty minutes later (I told you it was a big hit) she got right up on the dunk seat and three tosses later she was in the water:
I still can't believe that she did it! I was so proud of her! There are a couple of cracks in that shy exterior.
Drew did stand in line for the dunk tank as well. You should have heard the kids talking about him ("oh look at the cute baby", "can he even swim?"), but he ignored them all and got to the front of the line. He climbed up on to the seat and then promptly told Ryan to take him down:
Good effort buddy! There is always next year.
