Minor Setback

Just as I was beginning to feel "normal" after having Isla (i.e. getting back to the gym, clothes fitting again) I had to have minor surgery on Friday and once again it will be awhile until I feel "normal". The surgery was nothing big and I am completely healthy, but the recovery did leave me out of commission for a couple of days. Auntie Anna came to the rescue and was able to help Ryan out with Isla. It was hard not being able to take care of Isla - she is so much fun right now. We finally got our first smile from her and her little personality is starting to show. We are now getting longer stretches of sleep out of her at night (she slept 6 hours last night - yeah!).

Ryan is going back to work tomorrow and Isla and I are going to miss him so much. He was such a huge help with Isla - I wouldn't have been able to do this whole parenting thing without him.

Happy Halloween!

Auntie Anna came down to Boise this weekend to spend Halloween with her niece. We all dressed up in our homemade costumes (Isla was a ladybug that was not homemade, but Ryan, Anna and I all dressed up in things we already had). Ryan was a ex-high-school-football-player-still-living-in-the-past-guy, Anna was a cheerleader and I was Ophelia Cummings, Sex Therapist. Ryan's costume was by far the best and everytime I looked at him I couldn't help but laugh. We attended a party at the Bordner's house and we all had a great time. Here are pictures from the night:

Bath Time

We are trying to get somewhat of night time routine with Isla. Included in this routine is bath time. Isla isn't quite used to the water yet (as you will see in the pictures)- were hoping she will come around sooner or later. Here are some photos from tonight's bath time:
I love this one:

4 Weeks Old!

Can you believe our little girl is already 4 weeks old? I can't. We are slowly getting adjusted to our new little family unit. Still a little sleep deprived (okay - a lot), but we know that it is all worth it. Ryan and I have finally worked out a night feeding schedule so we are getting some sleep. We alternate feedings and manage to get anywhere from 4 to 5 hours sleep at a time. Isla is growing a lot and it seems everyday her cheeks get a little bit more chubby. Her are some updated pictures:

Weekend Surprise

Last weekend Isla and I got the best gift ever - a surprise visit from my Mom. My Dad had to go to Vegas for a work trip for the weekend so he decided to book my Mom a flight to Boise so she could visit her girls. Anna was already in town to visit Isla so it ended up being a perfect weekend. On Friday we went to the Boise State tailgate with our friends. Here are some pictures from the fun night:

Nursery Pictures

We are almost finished with decorating Isla's nursery, but I have had so many requests to post pictures of her nursery already that I won't make you guys wait any until we are done (we only have one more wall to decorate). It was hard to get all of the nursery into one picture so there are a lot. I don't feel that they really show how great it turned out, but oh well. Here they are:

Go BSU Broncos!

We watched our first BSU football game as a family last night. We must be good luck (or at least Isla is) because they won 38 to 3! I just wanted to share some photos of our cute little girl in her Boise State gear.
