4th of July - 2013

We decided to escape the heat in Boise and head up to Sun Valley for the 4th of July this year.  Lucky for us a couple of our friends decided to make the trip as well and of course I got to see some of my family who lives up there.  First order of business was a hike up Proctor mountain with four lovely ladies and five dogs:
Next it was off to the parade.  We met up with the Hamilton's and Dunn's:
Once Isla realized that there was candy thrown out she really got into the parade and even elbowed some kids out of her way to get it (do NOT get between Isla and her candy):

Drew was content to sit with Grandma and eat his sucker:
Once the parade was over we took the kids home for some quiet time and a nap.  Ryan and I were able to sneak away for an hour to go hang out with my cousins at a BBQ:

When we got home from the BBQ Drew woke up from his nap with a fever :-(.  He had to miss out on the rodeo that night with Mom and Dad.  Isla had a great time though:

She loved the barrel racing!  Next day Aunt Anna treated us and the Hamilton girls to a day at the Zenergy pool.  Have I ever mentioned what an amazing sister I have?  Anna played with all the girls in the pool while Molly and I sipped on our cocktails (BEST.AUNT.EVER):

My darn finger got in the way of the second picture!  Anywho after the pool we got Leo and then met the Hamilton's and Dunn's for a drink at Grumpy's:

Friday night was spent at home with Grandma and Papa Randy playing outside. Drew was feeling a little better, but really didn't kick the fever until Sunday morning:

Saturday I was able to get one more hike by myself on Ruud. The wildflowers were so beautiful:
Then later that night we went to a birthday party and then made the bar tour in Ketchum:

Sunday came and we were having so much fun that we didn't want to leave.  It may have been the fact that we really don't have a "home" to come back to or it could be that we had the option to hang out at the Zenergy pool again with Aunt Anna (I think it was probably the latter):
It was a great weekend!  One that made us remember why we love Sun Valley so much and feel so lucky to have family and friends that like to host us when we come up.
