Venice

Next stop was Venice for the wedding weekend!  Christina was adamant that once we got off the train in Venice we needed to take a few moments on the steps and take it all in.  I got pictures to prove that we did just that:

After we took it all in we jumped on our private water taxi to the bed and breakfast we stayed at:

After we settled in, we joined the bride and groom to be for dinner:

We ate A LOT of fish while we were in Venice.  It was all very good, but I think I filled my fish quota for the year:
The next day we were on our own so Ryan and I got in some sight-seeing:

Then it was on to the rehearsal aperitivo at the hotel:

Christina had one of her clients style her for her rehearsal outfit, oh and he made her some custom copper snake skin heels:
Well done, Mr. Brian Atwood.  One of the perks of living and working in Milan . . you get to meet fashion designers and have them style you.

The next day was the wedding day.  We started out the day with a yoga session led by Christina's sister, Drea:

I had to leave the yoga class early to get ready for more important things:
Then it was on to the hotel to get ready . . in the Bride's suite . . that was on the grand canal . . in Venice.  It was surreal:

And absolutely beautiful.  As was the wedding reception:

We got in some prom pictures after the wedding:

Then it was on to the reception which was at our bed & breakfast:

I danced my face off and didn't get to bed until 5:00 am.  It was so worth it.

The next day we had brunch at the hotel with the bride and groom and then got our own personal tour of Venice by Jacopo's father who was an art history professor at a college in Venice.  Ryan was bit obsessed with taking his picture as he reminded him of the "Most Interesting Man in the World" (google it - he kind of does):

That night we had our farewell dinner with the bride and groom and their families and friends.  It was so bittersweet to say good-bye to all our friends we made during the weekend:

A Polaroid with the bride:
Late night drinks at the bed and breakfast because we didn't want to say good-bye just yet:

Such a memorable weekend:
Next stop: Rome.
